The ST was a 16-bit computer line introduced by Atari Corporation in 1985. Development and was led by Shiraz Shivji, formerly with Commodore.
The name of the ST comes from the Sixteen/Thirty-two bit data bus of the 68000 processor. The first machine released in the line was the 520ST.
