Atari Corporation

Atari Corporation was founded in 1984 as Tramel Technology Limited (TTL). According to Leonard Tramiel, this spelling of the last name was intentional so people would pronounce it properly.

TTL/Atari Corp. purchased the assets of Atari’s consumer division. Employees who had worked for Atari Inc. were given the choice of being hired over to the new company, receiving a severance package from Warner Communications, or working for Atari Games.
