Sanyo were contracted to manufacture the A1000 in Japan, a decision was made by Adam Chowaniec. Around 35,000 units were produced and shipped to North America. Adam also sent Dave Needle to the Sanyo factory to assist them with finalizing the production boards and overall assembly. He kept the first one produced, serial number 1 until his passing.

Up until that point the factory had been used for manufacturing VCRs.
