Velvet is the third version of the Amiga Development System and the first to use a plastic case. New D-sub connectors were made for several of the ports with additional, albeit non-standard signals added in the process. Despite these changes, the system still had 128K of RAM and 128K ROM.
Unlike the RAM expansion on the production A1000, Velvet has a 72 pin connector which allows an additional 128K of RAM. As on the motherboard there are 16 64Kx1 DRAM chips and a 74S10 triple NAND gate IC.
