A game console is a machine designed to primarily play video games. On one of the first Amiga patents, ‘Video Game and Personal Computer’, Jay Miner distinguished a game console from a computer based on which peripherals are connected to the machine. Such was the initial concept for Lorraine. He also believed that a great computer could play great games.
