Jack Tramiel was born Idek Trzmiel.

After leaving Commodore on January 13th, 1984, Jack Tramiel started a new company called TTL (Tramel Technology Limited) to invest in new technology companies in Silicon Valley. He visited Mindset and Amiga, meeting at their offices on Scott Boulevard that April. It was at this meeting where he expressed his interest in using their chipset alone but curiously continued to lower his offer before leaving.

Jack would later be in court with Amiga after buying the Atari consumer assets from Warner Communications.
