The grey box is the first version of the Amiga Development System. Just 3 of these boxes were ever made with serial number D-002 being the only example currently known to exist.

The motherboard sits on several standoffs in an aluminum case. Unlike the black boxes, there is no chimney assembly or disk drive. The PCB was made by Oak Industries and contains multiple jumper wires.

The circuitry was designed throughout early 1984. Schematics and other related documentation for the grey box were included in the Orange Timing Book.
