The grey box is the first version of the Amiga Development System. The circuitry was designed in early 1984. Just 3 of these boxes were ever made, serial number D-002 being the only example currently known to exist.
The motherboard sits on several standoffs in an aluminum case. Unlike the black boxes, there is no chimney assembly or disk drive. The motherboard PCB was made by Oak Industries.
Schematics and other related documentation for the grey box were included in the Orange Timing Book.
