The Power Stick was a low profile joystick line made by Amiga for the Atari VCS and other machines which used the same controller pinout. Inside the joystick was a rubber mechanism, which they patented. [1], [2]
Special versions of the Power Stick would also be made available for other systems like the Mattel Intellivision. A version was also being planned for the Apple ][.
The joystick was originally known as the Pro-Stick but after realizing other manufacturers were selling joysticks under similar names, a new one was needed. Caryn Havis in marketing renamed it the Power Stick.
