Software & Hardware Innovative Technologies (S.H.I.T.) were a company founded in 1982 by Dave Needle, Stan Shepard and Robert Ewell. They initially worked as contractors on arcade games.
The three had previously made a one off Star Trek arcade game for the Federation Trading Post in Berkeley, CA.
